Wreckers Live Music, Radio, and Lanson Folk
ALFCIC runs Wreckers Radio, Wreckers Live Music and Launceston Folk club as projects that align with ALF values, aims, and objectives.
This means that all our projects have the intention of supporting individual and community health and wellbeing.
We know that having a sense of belonging, a place where people can make friends and support each other, having meaning and purpose in life and being encouraged and supported to follow our passions, supports emotional wellbeing, aids recovery from setbacks, and prevents future decline. Add music into the mix and it supercharges the positive impact on wellbeing.
Wreckers enables us to bring live music acts to Cornwall, Devon, and the South West, as well as supporting independent musicians and the grassroots venues that create aligned spaces for local music to take place, bringing ALF values to local communities West of the Exe. Wreckers Radio is an online station that helps to promote these objectives and give airtime to independent musicians as well as raise awareness of grassroots venues and the events they run.
Wreckers Radio is run in conjunction with Cornwall Folk Festival where we live broadcast annually at the festival in Wadebridge over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
